AEEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

AEEE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2026

The AEEE (Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering) is the university-level entrance exam conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission to its undergraduate engineering (B.Tech) programmes. Admission through AEEE is subject to candidates meeting certain eligibility conditions, which are designed to ensure that applicants possess the required academic background, age limits, and other prerequisites.

The eligibility criteria typically cover

  • Educational Qualification (which subjects you must have studied and what minimum marks are required)
  • Age / Date of Birth limits
  • Nationality / citizenship requirements
  • Other conditions / special cases (for example, passing all subjects in the same academic session, or criteria for those appearing in board exams)

Detailed Eligibility Criteria for AEEE

  1. Nationality / Candidate Type
  • Indian nationals are eligible.
  • Foreign nationals / NRIs / PIO / OCI candidates are also allowed under certain admission categories.
  1. Educational Qualification / Academic Background
  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 / Intermediate / Higher Secondary (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board.
  • Those who are appearing for the 10+2 exam in the year of admission are typically eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling the required marks at the time of document verification.
  • The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as part of the qualifying examination.
  1. Minimum Marks / Percentage Requirements
  • Aggregate Requirement: The candidate must secure at least 60% aggregate marks in PCM combined (Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics).
  • Subject-wise Requirement: In each of the three subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — the candidate must obtain not less than 55% marks individually.

Important Exception / Update: For second and subsequent allotment rounds, there is a provision (for 2025) that if one subject’s mark is between 50% and 55%, the candidate may still be eligible provided the overall PCM aggregate remains ≥ 60%.

  • All subjects must be passed in the same academic year and from the same board. Passing subjects in different years or from different boards is not accepted.
  1. Age / Date of Birth

From the official 2025 Handbook:

  • The candidate’s date of birth must be on or after 1 July 2004.
  1. Other Conditions / Special Clauses
  • The eligibility is verified before commencement of classes as well as during document verification.
  • Admission is offered only if the candidate satisfies all eligibility conditions; discrepancies can lead to cancellation.
  • Candidates have the option to gain admission via JEE Main scores as an alternate pathway (especially for a portion of seats). But even then, the basic eligibility (PCM, percentages, etc.) still applies.
  • Seat Allotment / Counselling (CSAP): After the exam and ranking, eligible candidates must participate in a Centralized Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) for final admission.
