The AIPGMEE 2026 Counseling is the final stage of the admission process, conducted after the declaration of results. The counseling process is conducted online, and candidates must register on the official portal to participate.

Key Steps in AIPGMEE 2026 Counseling Process

  1. Online Registration
    • Visit the official counseling portal and complete the registration by providing basic details, exam roll number, and rank.
    • Pay the required counseling fee to confirm participation.
  2. Choice Filling & Locking
    • Candidates can select their preferred colleges and courses from the available list.
    • Choices must be locked before the deadline. Once locked, they cannot be modified.
  3. Seat Allotment
    • Based on rank, category, and preferences, seats are allotted.
    • The seat allotment result is published online for each round.
  4. Download Allotment Letter
    • After allotment, candidates can download their provisional allotment letter from the portal.
  5. Reporting to Allotted College
    • Candidates must report to the allotted institute with original documents and confirm admission by paying the required fees.
  6. Subsequent Rounds of Counseling
    • If seats remain vacant, further rounds (Round 2, Mop-up round, Stray Vacancy round) are conducted.
    • Candidates not satisfied with their seat in earlier rounds may participate in the next round as per rules.

Q1. Who conducts the AIPGMEE 2026 counseling?

Ans: Counseling is conducted by the designated authority for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities handle State Quota seats. Deemed and central universities have their own counseling through MCC (Medical Counseling Committee).

Q2. Do I need to register separately for All India Quota and State Quota counseling?
Ans:
Yes, candidates must register separately on the MCC portal for AIQ counseling and on the respective state’s counseling portal for state quota seats.

Q3. Can I change my college or course preference after locking choices?

Ans: No, once you lock your choices, they cannot be changed. Candidates are advised to carefully fill and lock preferences before the deadline.

Q4. Is there any option to upgrade my seat in the next round?

Ans: Yes, if you are not satisfied with your Round 1 seat, you may opt for upgradation in Round 2, provided you report to the allotted institute and follow the rules.
