Q1. What is the mode of the HP PAT 2026 exam?

Ans. The exam is conducted in offline (pen-paper/OMR-based) mode at designated centers across Himachal Pradesh.

Q2. How many questions are there and what is the total duration?

Ans. There are 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered in 3 hours. No sectional time limits apply.

Q3. What is the marking scheme?

Ans. Each correct answer gives +4 marks, incorrect answer deducts -1 mark, and unanswered questions score 0. Total marks: 600.

Q4. How are questions distributed across subjects?

Ans. Mathematics: 50 questions (200 marks), Physics: 50 (200 marks), Chemistry: 30 (120 marks), English: 20 (80 marks).

Q5. Is the exam available in Hindi or only English?

Ans. Questions (except English section) appear in both English and Hindi. English section is in English only.
