Detailed Syllabus For HP PAT 2026

Mathematics Syllabus (10th level)

  • Real Numbers (Euclid’s division lemma, fundamental theorem of arithmetic, rational/irrational numbers)
  • Polynomials; Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables (graphical and algebraic methods)
  • Quadratic Equations; Arithmetic Progression
  • Coordinate Geometry; Introduction to Trigonometry and Applications of Trigonometry
  • Triangles and Similarity; Circles; Constructions
  • Mensuration: Areas related to circles, surface area and volume of solids (cuboid, cube, cylinder, cone, sphere)
  • Statistics and Probability (mean, median, mode, simple probability)

Physics syllabus (10th level)

Topics follow HP Board Class 10 Science physics units, used for HP PAT:

  • Light: Reflection and Refraction; Human Eye and the Colourful World
  • Electricity (Ohm’s law, series/parallel circuits, heating effects)
  • Magnetic Effects of Electric Current (magnetic field, electromagnetic induction)
  • Sources of Energy, Natural Resources and related environmental concepts (as covered in Class 10 Science)

Chemistry syllabus (10th level)

Chemistry is from HP Board Class 10 Science, limited to core inorganic and basic organic:

  • Chemical Reactions and Equations
  • Acids, Bases and Salts (properties, pH, applications)
  • Metals and Non-metals (properties, reactivity series, corrosion)
  • Carbon and Its Compounds (covalent bonding, simple hydrocarbons, functional groups – as per Class 10 scope)
  • Periodic Classification of Elements (Mendeleev/modern periodic table, trends)

English syllabus (10th level)

English is mainly basic grammar and usage, taken from Class 10 standard pattern:

  • Grammar & structure:
    • Active & Passive voice, Direct–Indirect speech
    • Modals and Expression of Attitude
    • Connectors, Conditionals, Comparisons, Avoiding Repetition
  • Vocabulary and usage in context; basic comprehension (as per Class 10 English standard)
