There are cutoffs for admission into KL Deemed to be University, though they vary depending on the branch a candidate wants, their category, and the entrance exam they are using.
To simply pass and qualify through the KLEEE exam itself, candidates generally need to secure a minimum threshold (historically around 45% marks). However, merely qualifying does not guarantee a seat in high-demand specializations.
Cutoffs for counseling and seat allotment depend heavily on the competitiveness of the branch:
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): This is consistently the most competitive branch. Securing CSE requires a very strong standing—such as a top rank or high percentile in national/state tests (like JEE Main or EAMCET) or a high score if appearing through KLEEE.
Core/Other Branches: Branches like Electronics and Communication (ECE), Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering generally have more flexible closing ranks, making them more accessible if you miss out on a top-tier rank.
Exam Difficulty & Total Applicants: The overall performance and volume of students appearing for a specific phase shift the merit boundaries.
Seat Availability & Campus: Cutoffs differ slightly between the primary Vaddeswaram (Guntur) campus and the Hyderabad campus.
Alternative Scores: Because KL University also accepts national scores like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and state entrance exams (like EAPCET) alongside KLEEE, cutoffs are evaluated across multiple merit pools.
Additional Tip: Scoring well above the basic qualification mark not only secures your preferred branch during counseling but can also make you eligible for university merit-based tuition fee concessions.
