Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), now Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), was first established in the year 2007. As a private institution of higher learning, the university was established by the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI). The Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar (IPMG) was established in 2006, and it was later joined with PDPU in the year 2007.  Since its founding, PDEU has established a reputation for excellence in the fields of energy and petroleum studies and is now ranked among Gujarat's top institutions of higher learning for engineering education.

PDEU (Formally PDPU) is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC), AICTE, AIU, and SIRO and has NAAC accreditation with an "A++" grade.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University - Eligibility Criteria

For UG –

• B.A/BBA- Candidates must be passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of marks. (English as the main subject for B.A only)
• B.Com- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent in Commerce stream or must have studied accounting and/or commerce-related subjects in 12th standard along with English as one of the subjects from a recognized board.

• B.Sc- Candidate must have completed the 12th standard examination from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.

For PG-

• M.A- Applicants must have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline.
• Students in their final year may also apply provisionally if they get their results before admission.
• M.Sc- Candidates must have passed Graduate in Science and Technology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
• MBA- Candidates must have a graduation degree with minimum aggregates of 50% or above and qualified XAT/ NMAT & CAT.
• M.Tech- Candidates must have B.E/B.Tech degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or above.
• PhD- Candidates must have an M.Phil degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.
