TG EDCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2026 

Here’s the detailed TG EDCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria for candidates planning to apply:

Nationality & Domicile

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate should satisfy the Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Telangana State Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974.
  • Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh candidates are eligible, subject to rules.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 19 years as on January 1, 2026.
  • Upper Age Limit: No upper age limit for appearing in TG EDCET 2026.

Educational Qualifications

(a) For B.Ed. Admission (General Requirement)

  • Candidates should have passed or be appearing in the final year of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./BCA/B.Sc. (Home Science)/BBM/BBA) or a Master’s Degree in relevant subjects.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree (45% for reserved categories – SC/ST/BC/PwD).

(b) Engineering/Technology Graduates

  • Candidates with a B.E./B.Tech. degree with Mathematics and Physics as subjects are eligible for the Mathematics/Physical Sciences Methodology in B.Ed.

(c) Eligibility for Methodology Subjects

  • Mathematics Methodology: B.A./B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subjects, or B.E./B.Tech. with Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Physical Sciences Methodology: B.Sc. with Physics and Chemistry or Allied Subjects under Physical Sciences, or B.E./B.Tech. with Physics and Chemistry.
  • Biological Sciences Methodology: B.Sc. with Botany /Zoology /Biology /Anthropology /Allied Life Sciences.
  • Social Studies Methodology: B.A./B.Com. with History /Geography /Economics/Political Science/Public Administration/Sociology/Commerce.
  • English Methodology: B.A. Special English / B.A. English Literature / M.A. English.

 Minimum Marks Requirement

  • General Category: 50% in qualifying exam.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/BC/PwD): 45% in qualifying exam.
  • Note: Candidates appearing for the final year degree exam in 2026 are also eligible to apply, but they must present proof of passing at the time of admission.
