VITEEE 2026 Counselling Process

VITEEE 2026 – Counselling Process

VITEEE 2026 counselling is a structured, multi-phase process conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) to allocate B.Tech seats across its campuses post-exam result declaration. Eligible candidates must actively participate in every VITEEE 2026 counselling step—registration, choice filling, document verification, seat allotment, and fee payment—to secure admission.

VITEEE 2026 Counselling Schedule and Eligibility:

  • Counselling is expected to start in the first week of May 2026 and run through July 2026, progressing in several phases based on the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) in VITEEE.
  • Only those who qualify in the entrance test and meet all eligibility norms can register for VITEEE 2026 counselling.

Step-by-Step VITEEE 2026 Counselling Process:

  • Online Registration: Qualified candidates must register for counselling via the official VIT portal by submitting their application number, rank, and personal details. Only registered candidates are allowed to move to the next stages.
  • Payment of Counselling Fee: An INR 5,900 (including GST) non-refundable counselling fee is paid online through net banking, card, or UPI. Failure to pay on time results in disqualification from further rounds.
  • Choice Filling and Locking: Candidates provide their preferred courses and campus options in order of priority. They should submit multiple preferences (often upwards of 25 for best chances) as seat allotment is merit and preference-based. Once choices are locked, they cannot be changed.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates physically or virtually (if enabled) verify their original documents, including identity proof, academic mark sheets, admit card, rank letter, category certificates (if applicable), and a few institution-specific documents.
  • Seat Allotment: VIT allocates seats based on the candidate’s rank, provided preferences, and availability in real-time after each phase. Allotment results are published online, and once accepted, the branch/campus cannot be altered.
  • Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation: Upon seat allotment, candidates pay the tuition and admission fees within the prescribed deadline, confirming acceptance of the seat. Failure to do so leads to automatic seat forfeiture.
  • Reporting for Admission: Candidates report to the allotted campus by the date mentioned in the admission offer letter, completing final document submission and registration formalities.
