VTUEEE 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Vel Tech University Engineering Entrance Examination (VTUEEE) 2026 is conducted by Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai for admission to its B.Tech programs. Before applying for the exam, candidates must check the detailed eligibility criteria to ensure they meet the academic, age, and other required conditions.

  1. Nationality

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals are also eligible under the special admission category.
  1. Age Limit

  • The candidate must be born on or after 1st July 2004 to be eligible for VTUEEE 2026.
  • There is no upper age limit for applying.
  1. Educational Qualification

  1. a) For B.Tech Programs

  • The candidate must have passed or appeared in the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination conducted by a recognized board.
  • Candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject as an optional subject.
  1. b) Minimum Marks Required

  • General/OBC Candidates: At least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • SC/ST Candidates: Relaxation of 10%; a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required.
  1. Candidates Appearing for 10+2 in 2026

  • Students who are appearing for their 10+2 final exams in 2026 are also eligible to apply.
  • However, they must submit proof of passing the exam at the time of counseling.
  1. Lateral Entry (Direct Admission to 2nd Year B.Tech)

Candidates seeking lateral entry admission into the 2nd year of B.Tech must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must have completed a Diploma in Engineering or a B.Sc. degree from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
  1. Direct Admission Based on Merit

Apart from the entrance exam route, Vel Tech University also offers direct admission to B.Tech programs for candidates with exceptional academic performance:

  • Above 70% aggregate marks in 10+2 PCM/B can make candidates eligible for merit-based scholarships.
  • Top rankers in state boards or central boards are eligible for direct admission with scholarships.

Eligibility for NRI / Foreign Students

  • Students must have completed 12 years of schooling with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Must submit equivalence certificates if the curriculum is different from the Indian education system.

Reservation Policy

Vel Tech University follows its own reservation policy:

  • Scholarships and fee waivers are provided based on the VTUEEE rank, board exam marks, and category.
  • SC/ST/OBC candidates are eligible for relaxation in marks as per the university norms
