Velammal Engineering College offers various scholarships to support students from different backgrounds. Following are the primary scholarship options that are offered to the students at VEC.

1. BC/MBC/DNC Scholarship

Provider: BC/MBC/DNC Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu

Eligibility:

• For students belonging to BC (Backward Classes), MBC (Most Backward Classes), and DNC (Denotified Communities)
• Income limit must be less than INR 1 lakh

Note: Management quota students are not eligible.

2. SC & ST Scholarship:

Provider: Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu

Eligibility:

• For SCA (Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar), SC, and ST students
• Income limit must be less than INR 2 lakhs.

3. Merit cum Means Based Scholarship for Minority Students

Provider: Department of Minorities Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu

Eligibility:

• For Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist students
• Income limit must be less than ?2.5 lakh
• Must have secured at least 50% marks in HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate).

4. Scholarship for Children of Beedi/Cine/Mine Workers

• Provider: Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India
• Eligibility: Specifically, for children of workers in beedi, cinema, or mining industries.
