Assam Engineering College – Application /Admission Process

The Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU) offers admission to its B.Tech program based on the results of the Assam Common Entrance Examination, or Assam CEE. In contrast, applicants to its MCA program must take and pass the Joint MCA Entrance Exam (JMEE), also offered by the campus. Admission to the M.Tech program is determined by the results of the college's departmental entrance exam. The following provides specifics about the AEC admissions process.

B.Tech Admission Process-

• Applicants must apply to and appear for Assam Common Entrance Examination known as Assam CEE conducted by Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU).
• To proceed to the next rounds of the admissions procedure, candidates must pass the Assam CEE. The names of those who make the shortlist will be featured in the merit list.
• Candidates must take the Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) to be considered for lateral entry.
• Interested candidates who pass the entrance exam must attend the Assam CEE counselling. They must show up at the counselling location, where seats will be assigned based on their choices and merit. They must also pay the course fee and have their documents verified.
• The final decision regarding the engineering candidate will be made based on the candidate's Assam CEE score, involvement in the counselling process, seat assignment, document verification, and payment of the required fees. 

M.Tech Admission Procedure-

• To be considered for admission to the M.Tech programme, candidates who meet the requirements must apply online through the college's website, appear in, and pass the department entrance exam.
• Candidates who pass the entrance exam will also advance to the document verification and fee payment stage of the admissions process.
• The final student selection process is based on the marks received on the entrance exam, the verification of documents at the institute level, and the payment of fees.

MCA Admission process-

• To be considered for admission to the MCA program at Assam Engineering College, candidates must apply and appear for the Joint MCA Entrance Exam (JMEE), which is administered by Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU). 

• Candidates must pass the entrance exam to be considered for the counselling procedure, after which they will be ranked in order of shortlisting.
• To receive a seat, have their documents verified, and pay the price, shortlisted candidates must report to the counselling location and take part in the JMEE counselling procedure.
• The JMEE scores obtained, the participation in the counselling process, the verification of the seat assignment documents, and the payment of the required fees will determine the final admission to the course.
