Chandigarh University – Scholarships

Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels are eligible for a variety of merit- and need-based scholarships from Chandigarh University. For the academic year 2022–2023, CU has set aside INR 45 crore for the same. Along with teaching assistantships in the form of stipends, CU offers several scholarships for students in the reserved category, dependents of defence personnel, and early bird applicants.

Chandigarh University Scholarship Types-

  1. Postgraduate Scholarships for SC/ST Students in Professional Courses

1,000 SC/ST individuals are eligible for this financial aid (provided by the UGC) if they apply through the National Scholarship Portal and are pursuing postgraduate studies in professional* areas.

Depending on how long the PG course will be, the scholarship will last for two or three years.

For the length of the Postgraduate Scholarship, selected candidates will receive a scholarship payment of INR 7,800 each month. Monthly fees of INR 4,500 for other courses

  1. Pre-Earned Credit Program Scholarship: The university launched this programme in 2021 to offer up to 50% scholarships on academic percentages based on the following criteria after taking the certification test for Coding Boot Camp:
  2. Merit Scholarship Programs for the Academic Session 2022–2023: Students at CU may also be eligible for merit scholarships based on their performance on the most recent qualifying exam or national-level entrance exam.

Scholarships for Engineering Courses based on JEE-Mains (AIR) Through this programme, scholarships are granted for a maximum of 5% of all available seats in each course.

  1. Teaching Assistant Stipend: Chandigarh University also provides ME and MSc students with the opportunity to apply for assistantships. For a maximum of 10 months each year, they receive INR 5,000 and INR 8,000 monthly, respectively.
  2. CGPA-Based Scholarships: 10% of the total amount is awarded to students with CGPAs of 9.0 or higher if they are not already receiving any other scholarships.
  3. Scholarship Program for Children of Defense Personnel: Chandigarh University reserves 5% of its place in all programmes for the children, wives, and other direct family members of those who died in the line of duty. Moreover, CU offers a 20% price waiver to active duty defence personnel who wish to enrol in any course during study leave.
