NMIMS NLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The NMIMS Law Aptitude Test (NLAT) 2027 is the mandatory entrance examination conducted by SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University for admission into its 5-year Integrated Law programs: B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.).

To secure admission across NMIMS campuses (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Indore), candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the university.

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have completed or be appearing for the Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized central or state board (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, or Cambridge).

  • Minimum Aggregate Marks: Candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their Class 12 qualifying examination.

  • Single Attempt Mandate: The qualifying Class 12 exam must be completed in a single attempt.

  • Pass in All Subjects: Candidates must pass each individual subject opted for in Class 12. Failing or receiving an incomplete status in any subject invalidates eligibility, regardless of the overall percentage.

  • Calculation of Marks: Aggregate percentage calculation considers all subjects appeared for in the qualifying exam (best-of-four or best-of-five rules are not applicable unless standard on the mark sheet).

2. International Board Equivalency Rules

  • International Baccalaureate (IB): Candidates pursuing the IB Diploma must secure a minimum of 24 credits and pass 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL).

  • Cambridge Board / A-Levels: Candidates must fulfill A-Level requirements with passing grades in necessary subjects as per NMIMS norms.

  • AIU Certificate: Foreign or overseas qualification holders must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

3. Age Limit

  • Candidates aged above 25 years are eligible to apply and take the NLAT exam for entry into the 5-year integrated law programs at NMIMS.
