JEE Main 2019 Full Syllabus for B.E/B.Tech and B.Arch/Planning

JEE MAIN 2019 has two papers, one for Engineering (Paper-I) and the other for Architecture (Paper-II). JEE Main 2019 Paper-I is conducted in both computer-based and pen & paper based, but for Paper-II is conducted in only pen & paper based. Paper-I is comprised of syllabus from the subjects Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Whereas JEE Main 2019 Paper-II comprised of the syllabus from the subjects Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing. JEE Main 2019 application forms starts from 1st September 2018 for January session & 8th February 2019 for April Session.

 

JEE Main 2019 Syllabus:

B.E/B.Tech:

Mathematics: Sets, Relations & Functions, Complex Numbers & Quadratic Equations, Matrices & Determinants, Permutations & Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Mathematical Induction, Limit, Continuity & Differentiability, Sequences & Series, Differential Equations, Integral Calculus, Three Dimensional Geometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Statistics & Probability, Vector Algebra, Mathematical Reasoning and Trigonometry.

Physics: Physics & Measurement, Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Work, Energy & Power, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, Properties of Solids & Liquids, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Oscillations & Waves, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction & Alternating Currents, Optics, Electromagnetic Waves, Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation, Electronic Devices, Atoms & Nuclei, Communication Systems, etc.

Chemistry:

Physical Chemistry: Some Basic concepts in Chemistry, Atomic Structure, States of Matter, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Solutions, Chemical Thermodynamics, Redox Reactions & Electrochemistry, Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, etc.

Inorganic Chemistry: General Principles & Process of Isolation of Metals, Hydrogen, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, p – Block Elements, s – Block Element, Coordination Compounds, d – and f – Block Elements, Environmental Chemistry, etc.

Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Purification & Characterisation of Organic Compounds, Organic Compounds Containing Halogens, Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen, Polymers, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Bio Molecules, Principles Related to Practical Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life, etc.

B.Arch/B.Planning:

Part-I

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning, Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).

Part-II

Three dimensional – perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, subtraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3 D views of objects. Creating two-dimensional and three-dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.

Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles. gardens, trees, plants etc.) and rural life.

Note: B.Arch/Planning candidates are advised to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.
