• Float:Keep the seat but remain eligible for possible upgradation in next rounds.
• Slide:Accept the seat, but if a better branch within the same institute becomes available, upgrade.

4. Reporting and Document Verification

• Candidates must report online and upload documents: admit card, rank card, 10th/12th mark sheet, category certificate, seat allotment letter, fee receipt, and identity proof.
• Final admission in institutes requires physical document verification (end of July) after successful online verification.

5. CSAB Special Rounds

• For NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, if seats remain vacant after JoSAA, CSAB conducts additional rounds with a separate registration and increased acceptance fee (INR 38,000 for General/OBC and INR 18,000 for SC/ ST/ PwD).

6. Additional Counselling Channels

• State-level authorities run independent counselling for engineering admissions in participating state colleges, often accepting JEE Main scores alongside state entrance exams.
• Private/deemed universities and institutes (e.g., Amity, SRM, DTU, NSUT) may conduct separate university-specific or centralized counselling.
