JEE Main 2026 Counselling

JEE Main 2026 – Counselling

JEE Main 2026 counselling is a centralized, multi-round process managed primarily by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), responsible for seat allocation in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and, through JEE Advanced scores, IITs. Candidates who qualify JEE Main are eligible and participate online by registering, filling choices, and confirming seats in a transparent, merit-based system. The 2026 counselling cycle is conducted entirely online through the official portal: josaa.nic.in.

Structure and Phases of JEE Main 2026 Counselling

  • Registration & Choice Filling: Candidates log in using their JEE Main application number and password to register and rank their preferred institutes and branches.
  • Mock Allotments: Two rounds of mock seat allocation are typically conducted to help candidates optimize their preferences before the final locking deadline.
  • Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated across multiple rounds based on All India Rank (AIR), category, seat availability, and candidate preferences.
  • Seat Acceptance: Upon allotment, candidates must upload required documents and pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) online to confirm their provisional admission.

FAQs

Q1. Who conducts the JEE Main 2026 counselling process?

Ans. Those who miss seat allotment in JoSAA or seek better options may register for CSAB Special Rounds, which fill remaining NIT+ system seats after JoSAA concludes.
