IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria mandates candidates to hold a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates belonging to General/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must have secured at least 55% aggregate in Graduation. The marks secured include all the subjects studied in the graduation in all the years, without rounding off the marks. The reservation policy will be as per government norms. Both Indian candidates and foreign candidates may apply for IIT JAM 2020. IIT JAM 2020 will be conducted online on February 9 2020, in 2 sessions.

Bachelor's degree with Geology for three years or six semesters and any two subjects in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biological Sciences. The candidate must have Mathematics at (10+2) level.

M.Sc. Applied Geophysics (IITB)

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree Programme in Applied Geophysics (IITB)

Bachelor's degree with Mathematics and Physics as subjects for two years and at least one as a subject for three years.

M.Sc. Applied Statistics and Informatics (IITB)

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Operations Research (IITB)

Bachelor's degree with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for a minimum of two years or four semesters.

M.Sc. Statistics (IITK)

Bachelor's degree with Statistics for a minimum of two years/four semesters.

M.Sc. Biotechnology (IITB, IITR)

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology (IITB)

Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science/Agriculture/Pharmacy/Veterinary/Engineering/ Medicine (MBBS). For IITB's M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology, candidates must have passed Mathematics at the (10+2) level.

Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Chemistry (IIT BBS, IITKgp)

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree Programme in Chemistry (IITB)

Bachelor's degree with Chemistry for three years or six semesters and Mathematics at the (10+2) level.

M.Sc. Mathematics (IITB, IITD, IITGN, IITH, IITK, IITM)

M.Sc. Mathematics and Computing (IITG)

Bachelor's degree with either Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years or four semesters, and any one of the remaining two subjects for at least one year or two semesters.

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science & Engineering (IITB)

Bachelor's degree with one of the subjects Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics for two years or four semesters, and any one of the other four subjects for at least one year or two semesters. Candidates should have Mathematics at the (10+2) level.

Integrated PhD in Biological Sciences (IISc Bangalore)

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. Candidates must have passed Biology at the (10+2) Higher Secondary level.

Integrated PhD in Chemical Sciences (IISc Bangalore)

Bachelor of Science or equivalent with Chemistry as a subject. Candidates should have passed Mathematics at the +2 or PUC level.

Integrated PhD in Mathematical Sciences (IISc Bangalore)

Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with mathematics for three years or six semesters.

Integrated PhD in Physical Sciences (IISc Bangalore)

Bachelor of Science or equivalent with Physics as the main subject.
