NIFT 2026 (SYLLABUS)

The NIFT 2026 syllabus is divided into two main written exams—General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT)—followed by a Situation Test for B.Des or a Group Discussion/Personal Interview for PG courses.

Ques.1 What are the subjects covered in the NIFT 2026 syllabus?

Ans.  The NIFT 2026 syllabus varies by program and includes:

  • General Ability Test (GAT) – For all programs

Ques.2 Is there a specific syllabus for the Situation Test?

Ans. No set syllabus for situation test. The test evaluates:

  • Aesthetic sense, creativity, and neatness
  • Conceptual clarity (explained via a short write-up)

Ques.3 What is tested in the Personal Interview (PI) round?

Ques.4 How many questions are there in each section of GAT?

Ans.  The number varies depending on the program. Example (for B.Des):

  • GK & Current Affairs – 15

Ques.5 What topics are included in the Creative Ability Test (CAT)?

Ans. CAT focuses on creativity and innovation, design theory, color usage and psychology, drawing fundamentals, visualization, concept development, illustration, presentation techniques, 3D visualization, and originality.
