NEW DELHI — The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to release the tentative examination schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for the 2026–27 academic session. Students, teachers, and school administrations across the country are eagerly awaiting the official release on the board’s official portal, cbse.gov.in.

While an official circular is pending, past administrative trends suggest that the tentative date sheet will likely be published in the last week of September 2026, with the final subject-wise schedule following by late October or early November 2026.
To assist candidates in planning their academic calendar, CBSE follows a structured release window based on previous years' patterns. During the preceding academic cycle, CBSE published its tentative schedule on September 24, followed by the finalized timetable on October 30.

In the previous examination cycle, CBSE catered to around 45 lakh candidates across both classes, administering tests for over 204 subjects. A similar or higher turnout is expected for the 2027 examinations.
For Students: Early release allows candidates to map out long-term revision plans, balance high-weightage subjects, schedule full-length mock tests, and manage stress ahead of February.
For Schools: Academic institutions gain necessary lead time to complete course syllabi, schedule pre-board examinations, organize practical labs, and arrange staff deployment for evaluation duties.
Alongside date sheet preparations, CBSE continues to run direct support initiatives to prepare students in specialized regions. Notably, the board recently launched a month-long in-person academic support programme targeting Class 10 and Class 12 government school students in Ladakh.
The initiative covers ten key locations—including Leh, Kargil, Drass, Nubra, Zanskar, Shams, Changthang, Sankoo, and Chiktan—focusing on core subject clarity and exam readiness before the main winter period sets in.
