  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Science/Arts/Commerce or equivalent
  • Professional diploma in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts (minimum 4 years)
  • GD Art (Government Diploma in Art) (10+5 level)
  • Postgraduate degree program (minimum 3 years after 10+2)

Note on 3-Year Degrees: Candidates with a standard 3-year degree (e.g., B.A., B.Sc., B.Com) on its own are typically required to possess a subsequent master's degree or additional qualifications that satisfy overall timeline criteria, whereas 4-year professional degrees qualify directly.

Final-Year Students: Candidates currently in the final year of their qualifying program are fully eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of completion by July 2027.

2. Age Limit

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the CEED 2027 exam. Candidates of any age are eligible to apply, making it accessible for fresh graduates, working professionals, and career changers.

3. Number of Attempts

CEED imposes no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates can take the exam as many times as they wish, provided they meet the eligibility criteria each time.

4. Nationality

Indian and Foreign Candidates: Both Indian nationals and foreign nationals (including OCI/PIO cardholders) can apply for CEED 2027, provided they fulfill identical educational requirements.

5. Special Provisions

PwD (Persons with Disability) Candidates: Orthopedically or visually impaired candidates are eligible to avail of a scribe facility and/or compensatory time for Part A of the exam, subject to rules and proper documentation (such as a UDID card or valid medical certificate) during application.

6. Application Requirements

Supporting Documents: Applicants must upload:

  • Recent passport-size color photograph and scanned signature
  • Proof of qualifying examination (degree/diploma certificate, final-year mark sheet, or principal's certificate)
  • Relevant category certificates (EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL)
  • PwD or medical certificates (if applicable)

7. Admission vs. Exam Eligibility

Meeting the CEED eligibility criteria only entitles a candidate to take the exam. Admission eligibility criteria (such as discipline-specific cutoffs, minimum marks, portfolio checks, and interviews) for M.Des programs at individual institutes vary significantly. Aspirants should carefully check the requirements of each target institute.
